La Macolina

La Macolina is an historic vineyard area in the Bologna Hills near Imola. Classical varietals such as Sangiovese and Albana and modern types, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, thrive on this site. Production is very limited.

Museum Rubicone

Giuliana Benedetti created Museum to be the crowning result of decade old plantings of Sangiovese Grosso, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot in the Macolina estate's vineyard area.

Museum is a dry, full-bodied red, aged for 2 years in Slavonian and French oak barrique. If the estate were located 20 miles south of where it is, we would call it a Super Tuscan. As it is, Museum is one of the richest red wines of Emilia-Romagna. It will age carefully for a decade or more and enhance the famous dishes of Bologna.
